Profit First is a system by Mike Michalowicz that helps you become permanently profitable in your business. It uses the science of behavior to help make sure you don’t run out of cash. We implement Profit First in our firm and love it! Thank you to Warner Law Group for introducing it to us! (Disclaimer: Bookaholic Bookkeeping does not have any certified Profit First Professionals at this time.)

YES! To be honest, helping you is what we love to do the most! Helping the small one (wo)man show is our specialty and why we started this business. Some clients are too big for us, but no client is too small.

We’re here to help with your cash flow and budgeting.  A good way to do that is to know your bookkeeping fees in advance.  No surprises! AND you’re not on the clock with every phone call or email. We love questions!
We offer only those tax services related to Payroll tax withholding and Sales Tax. By choosing to focus on our core areas of Bookkeeping, Payroll, Start Up, and Year End Wrap Up, we can offer our services at a rate that’s more affordable for you. It allows everyone- you, your income tax preparer, and Bookaholic Bookkeeping, to focus on our own respective specialties and provide the best service possible.  In addition, it provides a system of checks and balances to minimize the risk of errors. A Win-Win for everyone!
We work with several accountants in the area and are happy to offer referrals.

YES! The IRS considers professional fees such as bookkeeping, accounting and legal fees to be an ordinary and necessary business expense. It is deducted on line 17 of IRS Form 1040 Schedule C.

Nope.  Another reason for flat rate billing is to spread out the cost of wrapping up the year. There’s no need to save up for a big payment, you’re covered!
YES!!!!! As much as possible, never mix business with personal expenses. First of all, it’s much easier to track.  Secondly, it helps your business look more legitimate in the eyes of the IRS. Go to your favorite bank, open a checking account, and get a debit card to make purchases. Savings accounts are a good idea as well.

We work with a variety of industries.  We have the most experience with landscaping/hardscaping, but we serve a variety of clients including hair dressers, real estate agents, rental property owners, lawyers, construction, & manufacturing, just to name a few.

We don’t have one scheduled right now, but I’m happy to set one up if you’re interested!

Nothing… if you’re a operating a lemonade stand in front of your house. But if you have ANY risk that someone could get upset and sue you in the course of your operations, you want to make your business a separate entity.  As a Sole Proprietor, that person can take your house, your car, everything you own if they win a suit against you.  As an LLC or a corporation, they can only take what belongs to the company.
